IMMIGRATION LAW FEES

UK immigration — fixed fee structure

If your case is not listed within our fee scale please enquire — we deal with all immigration matters. All fees quoted are fixed fees and are inclusive of VAT but exclusive of disbursements, for example Home Office or visa application fees, which will be provided to you at point of contact.

We have also provided an approximate range of fees as the fee charged will often depend on the complexity of the matter. Our fees include our representation until a decision is received on your case. Appeals are not included within our fixed fees and are quoted separately. Translation of documents and/or interpretation services is not included.

On average, we aim to prepare and submit all applications within 2–3 months of receipt of client instructions. Timescales for cases will vary and a more accurate timescale will be provided at the point of initial contact.

PROBATE FEES

Fixed fee probate service

£900–£1,500 fixed fee£200/hr additional workUncontested cases

Our fixed fee probate service ranges from £900–£1,500 depending on the complexity of the matter. Our fees are inclusive of VAT, and this service is to apply for and obtain a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration only, and where the estate is not subject to Inheritance Tax.

This does not include the probate application fee which is £155 and £1.50 for each additional copy of the probate requested. The service is for uncontested cases only.

Should additional work be required, we will charge based on an hourly rate (£200 per hour) for the solicitor with conduct of your matter. Additional work can include responding to requisitions raised by the probate registry, help with administration of the estate, or completing and filing additional IHT forms for a full Inheritance Tax Account.

When instructing our firm you can be rest assured that we shall handle your matter with sensitivity and try to make this often complex process as quick and simple as possible at an often very difficult time.

As part of our fixed fee, we will:

  • Provide you with a dedicated and experienced probate solicitor to work on your matter
  • Identify the legally appointed executors or administrators and beneficiaries
  • Accurately identify the type of Probate application you will require
  • Obtain the relevant documents required to make the application
  • Complete the Probate Application and the relevant HMRC forms
  • Draft a legal oath for you to swear
  • Make the application to the Probate Court on your behalf
  • Obtain the Probate and securely send two copies to you
  • Collect and distribute all assets in the estate

DEBT RECOVERY FEES

Streamlined debt recovery pricing

We have attempted to provide a streamlined fixed fee structure for our debt recovery service where the debt is undisputed. Our fees are inclusive of VAT but do not include disbursements, for example court fees which depend on the value of the debt and trace fees.

If the debt is disputed, additional work will be required which will be charged on an hourly rate (£200 per hour) for the solicitor with conduct of the matter. Our fees vary depending on the stage and the amount that is owed.

Stage 1

Pre-litigation

We send a letter to the debtor requesting payment within 7–14 days, or a payment arrangement acceptable to our client.

Stage 2

Litigation

If the debtor does not respond, we issue court proceedings. The debtor has 14 days to respond, or 28 days if they file an acknowledgment of service. We enter judgment if they fail to respond or defend.

Stage 3

Enforcement

We enforce any judgment through a warrant of execution, Attachment of Earnings Order, Third Party Debt Order or Charging Order. We discuss the best option and advise on fees, typically £250–£500.

Our fees also include

  • Taking your instructions and reviewing documentation
  • Undertaking appropriate searches
  • Sending a letter before action
  • Receiving payment and sending onto you, or if unpaid, drafting and issuing claim
  • Where no Acknowledgment of Service or Defence is received, applying to the court to enter Judgment in default
  • When Judgment in default is received, writing to the other side to request payment
  • If payment is not received, providing advice on next steps and likely costs

Enforcement action typically ranges from £250 to £500 and can take between 8–12 weeks.
